Digital Health for Community-Based Management of Febrile Illness (Version 1)
The Digital Health for Community-Based Management of Febrile Illness framework describes the desired state for community health worker use of digital tools for managing malaria and other febrile illnesses. In this ideal state described in the framework, community health programs leverage digital health tools to strengthen service delivery and generate and use data that improve community health programming with the ultimate goal of decreasing the burden of febrile illnesses such as malaria.
Developed by Digital Square at PATH as part of the PMI Digital Community Health Initiative, this framework is designed to support the development and prioritization of recommendations to advance the use of digital health tools for community case management of febrile illness, providing an overview of necessary components and functionalities necessary for advancement. While this document focuses on malaria and other febrile illnesses, recommendations developed using this framework are intended to support an integrated approach in alignment with the delivery of existing services.
