The Sustainability Calculator was developed by analyzing costed digital health roadmap data from 13 African countries with a digital health maturity level between 1 and 3. This data was then used to generate a suggested high-level cost-per-person estimate by digital health maturity level. All budget line items within the roadmaps were coded as development, deployment, or operations by Digital Square’s market analytics experts to understand the proportional breakdown of each category.

Digital Square is excited to announce the fourth edition of our Global Goods Guidebook, featuring a comprehensive overview of the 36 software global goods approved by Digital Square’s Notice G0 Open Application Process. Through the Guidebook, Digital Square aims to showcase the value of global goods; support the advocacy for ongoing adoption of global goods by countries; and generate additional sustained interest, investment, and support for global goods. Digital Square announced today that Dr. Bilal Mateen has been appointed new Executive Director, effective July 31, 2023. Dr. Mateen is an energetic and innovative leader with extensive experience in digital health, both as a clinician and practitioner of philanthropy. Prior to joining the Digital Square team, he has served as the Clinical Technology Lead and Senior Manager for Digital Technology at the Wellcome Trust – one of the world’s largest charitable foundations.
